HOUSTON, TX – A celebration of the United States Independence was marred as Jenny Thomas, 22, brought her new boyfriend Ahmed Waquar to her friends annual Pre-4th of July Bar-B-Que Spectacular.
“That was totally uncool,” said Beth Williams, host of the event. “I mean I knew (Thomas) was dating the guy, but I didn’t think that she would actually have the balls to bring him to a 4th of July party. I mean he’s cool and all, I do actually like him, but come on. How do we know that he wont blow up the potato salad? We don’t, that’s what makes the whole thing so… just so wrong.”
Thomas has been dating Waquar now for a little over six months, and Waquar is said to be accepted, even liked, by all of her friends.
“I don’t get it, they all like (Waquar), but when we show up to the party, people just kinda freaked out,” Thomas said. “I mean Beth flat out called him a terrorist. Ahmed and her are almost as close as I am to Beth. It just doesn’t make any sense. And another thing, he grew up in Canada. Hell, he’s more white than I am.”
