Woman Reading Book Won’t Shut Up

IOWA CITY, IA – Customers at a local coffee shop are becoming increasingly annoyed at a woman who will not stop talking about the book she is reading.

Adele Farmington, alumni of The University of Iowa, has not ceased her running commentary of “The Girl Who Played With Fire,” the second book of Stieg Larsson’s Best Selling trilogy.

“She just won’t stop talking,” said the barista of the coffee shop, Sara Lynn. “It is starting to get on my nerves. I mean, everyone here has read the books, and they are really great and all, but you don’t hear anyone else in here going on and on like this. And there are like, a million good books, and like everyone reads. I swear, I want that woman gone yesterday.”

According to the coffee shop regulars, in the corner of the room where Adele sits, it is quiet except for the constant muttering and yelling, all of the patrons seem to have moved to the other end of the room.

“(Farmington) just keeps shouting ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe it, no. No! Not…Lisbeth….You have to read this book! This part is so amazing! I want to live in Sweden!’ all day, so I have been spending more time down at the other coffee shop,” said current student and coffee drinker, Anne Boyle. “The coffee is not as good over there, but I just don’t think I can wait until that woman finishes the book… and then I think, next is ‘The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest.’ There could be another two weeks of this! But then I was thinking, maybe I could get her to do this for the novel I’m writing.”
