WILMINGTON, NC – Jesus Christ has apologized for a controversial tweet he made last month after an intense online backlash.

“I sent a tweet last month about the meek inheriting the world and many people took offense to the tweet so I’m sorry I sent it. I’ve deleted the tweet” stated Christ in a recent tweet.

In an interview with NBC Nightly News Christ continued to apologize.

“A handful of people took offense to what I tweeted so I apologize to both the people who took offense to the word ‘meek’ and to the people that took offense to my suggestion that poor people would take over the world,” said Christ in an interview with NBC Nightly News. “I should have said something like blessed are the people you think are blessed and especially bless the rich and people and nothing will ever change.”
