BLOOMINGTON, IN – In recent weeks local college freshman Gwen Upshall has really gotten into Buddhism.

“Buddhism is my everything right now,” said Upshall. “I first went to this Buddhism mediation thing because this guy I liked in my yoga class said he thought the idea of meditating was cool and when I got there everything was just so peaceful and welcoming and enlightening. It was awesome. So, I immediately went to the library and checked out almost every book on Buddhism and I’ve been watching videos online of people talking about Buddhism and I bought these meditation things and I’m trying to learn Chinese. I think that’s what they speak, right?”

Upshall is now considering changing her major to Eastern Religious Studies but her friends are confident Upshall will get bored with Buddhism soon.

“She always does this,” said Upshall’s roommate, Steph Hall. “Some cute guy will say something about something and Gwen will go crazy on that shit for weeks. Then she meets some other dude that’s into something else and it starts all over again. She has a painting class coming up so I’m sure this whole Buddhism thing won’t last much longer.”
