Entertainment Blogger Thinks British Version is Better

New York City, NY – A blogger for the popular entertainment blog EntertainThis!.com thinks that all British television shows are superior to their American counterparts.

“I don’t hate American TV, I just think that the British versions of the same shows are just better,” said Shane Talbot. “Even the shows that were American first, the British ones are better. And almost all shows that are on the BBC are great. American entertainment is just weak and pedestrian and should really be put in the trash because it’s all garbage.”

During a recap of the recent season of the popular BBC show “Sherlock,” Talbot stated that a planned American remake will be terrible because “Americans always try to make television more identifiable to the mentally-challenged that make up the fly-over states.”

“The British? They just get it,” said Talbot. “They get television, and really, life in general way more than 99.999% of Americans. When was the last time you saw an unhappy British person? You’ve never seen an unhappy British person, have you? Well, maybe when Princess Di died there were a few, but something like that doesn’t happen often. And you never hear the British complain about their TV shows. Mostly because they can’t. It’s all just great.”

Talbot has a long history of criticizing American shows while praising the original BBC version.

“Talbot was actually one of the first people to say that the British version of ‘The Office’ was better than (the American) version,” said Media Studies professor at Harvard, Frank Tresit. “Now I know that it may be a rather cliché thing to say at this point, but when Talbot said it… it was groundbreaking. People were really taken back by that statement. But now it’s just something we all regard as fact. Now (‘The Office’ writers and producers) just rely on fart jokes and sexual tension. That’s not funny. Well, it kind of is, but compared to how smart the British version is, it’s like ‘Schindler’s List.’”

While several people were offended by Talbot’s statement, the comments section of the article was full of agreement and inside jokes.

“I don’t know much, but do know that (Talbot) is totally right,” said Mr.BigShooter, a regular poster on EntertainThis!.com. “I don’t hate American TV, I just think that the British versions of the same shows are just better. Even the shows that were American first, the British ones are better. And almost all shows that are on the BBC are great. American entertainment is just weak and pedestrian and should really be put in the trash because it’s all garbage! Also Big Hands Jimmy needs to deal with it. Lol! My fellow PackRats know what I’m talking about. (Talbot) did say that all the British stuff was better, right? Ok, good.”

Despite the fact that American versions of several British shows are already in development, Talbot is hoping that people in America will soon see the errors of their ways and just go to the source of “good, quality television.”

“Have you seen this Downton Abby show? Holy. Fucking. Shitballs. That is a great fucking show,” Talbot said. “I have absolutely no idea what it’s about and I can’t understand about half of what they are saying, but I know quality when I see it. Of course it’s just a matter of time before Hollysuck comes along and remakes it set in New York. Or worse, L.A. Then I’m sure they’ll cast someone like Steven Segal. They cast him in everything. Then the show will just suck like every other American show.”
