Top Costume Ideas for This Halloween

This year's most popular costume is Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the beloved mongoose.

LOS ANGELES, CA – As Halloween approaches, people across the country are looking for the perfect costume. To help those who are still searching, The Scoop News has asked several Halloween retail experts about this year’s hottest selling and most buzzworthy costumes.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi
“Rikki is really having a moment right now with the feature film, two different TV shows on different streaming platforms, the album of songs inspired by Rikki that Sabrina Carpenter just released, the new theme park, and of course the new Rikki monument built on the grave of (President) Gerald Ford. So of course, the single most popular costume this year is our favorite little mongoose Rikki-Tikki-Tavi,” said Spirt Halloween Regional Manager, Wesley Cordova.

Sexy Rikki-Tikki-Tavi
“Every year sexy versions of the most popular costumes are also… well, popular. For every Rikki-Tikki-Tavi costume you see this Halloween you will likely see a sexy version. And that’s ok. Don’t slut shame people just because they want to wear a sexy costume. And definitely don’t think there is any underlying message about a woman dressing up as a sexy version of a character that is known for killing snakes. Don’t think about it because it’s definitely not a thing your dumb male brains needs to worry about,” said Halloween Dream Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Crosby.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi-Kelce
“Ironic costumes are always a big hit at Halloween parties… or so I’ve been told. I’ve actually never been to a Halloween party. I know you look at me and think ‘oh, well, that guy is cool and gets to go to all the cool parties with all the cool people and doesn’t just sit at home on Halloween looking out the window wondering why all the kids are crossing the street before they get to his house’ but you’d be wrong. I’ve got the good candy! I buy full size candy bars from Costco and they still cross the street. What else do I need to do? Anyway, people that have gone to parties and told me about them said that ironic costumes are fun so… yeah, why not dress up as Rikki-Tikki-Tavi but with, like, a Travis Kelce jersey on? That will probably make sure people talk to you instead of not inviting you to their Halloween party which you know they are having because they accidentally left the flyer on the copier and then lied about it when I asked about it,” said Halloween Partytown USA Warehouse Manager, Chris Schwartz.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi but with a real cobra in your mouth
“Halloween is fun and you should have fun with your costume. Do stuff you wouldn’t normally do – like carry a live cobra around! Keep it fun, put it in your mouth, shake it around at parties. Make it come out of your fly like your penis is a giant snake. Let it get away and then jump on it. Get crazy! Halloween is the only time your friends will see you with a live cobra in your mouth and think ‘hell yeah’ so make the most of it!” said Haunted House Manager, Kate Oligier.

Steve from Accounting
“Every office has a Steve from accounting, so why not share in the common joke and become Steve from Accounting? All you gotta do is get yourself a button-down shirt, a pocket protector, a 50 GB jump drive full of interracial porn, a wireless keyboard, and you’re all set. Guaranteed that the second you walk into any party, everyone is going to know exactly who you are,” said Microsoft Halloween Party Patrol Lead, Jessen Lombard.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi Furry style
“Let’s face it, furries are totally in this year and why not jump on the furry bandwagon and get yourself a full on Rikki-Tikki-Tavi Fursuit? You will have to beat all the women off with a stick if you show up to a party like that. I mean, seriously, If I went to a party and I saw a guy, or girl, dressed as a furry Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, I’d be all like ‘dude, save some pussy for the rest of us,” said Hollywood Costume designer, Shelly Martinez.
