NEW YORK, NY – Just in time for Mother’s Day, several of the world’s top design houses, including Coach and Dolce and Gabbana, have come out with new lines of products developed to appeal more to the modern woman. The products, which include vacuums and dusters, are expected to be big sellers.

“I’ve been designing purses and things for women for a long time so I think I’ve got an insight to what a woman really wants and that’s cleaning supplies,” said Max Watkiss, Lead Designer at Coach. “Seriously, women cannot get enough cleaning supplies, so it only makes sense that we, and other designers now, have jumped at this untapped market. Think about it. When you see a woman at home, is she holding a purse? No, she’s holding a vacuum. Well, now she can be holding a new Coach Vacuum.”

Retailers across the country are stocking up on the designer cleaning products in anticipation of a profitable Mother’s Day weekend.

“I have been married – to a woman, of course – for 15 years now so I think I know a little something about what women want and I know that women are going to love this new Couch hand-held vacuum with a leather handle pink attachments,” said Target Vice President of Women Products, Robert Gleason. “Women love cleaning. I don’t know why, maybe because they are so good at it. And women like to look good and since they want to look good while they are doing the thing they love most, again, that’s cleaning, they will snatch these vacuums up. Every single man should get the woman in his life one of these $700 Gucci mops.”

Men across the country are excited about the new products as well with many saying they finally have a great gift to give to their significant others.

“I love my wife, a lot, but I never know what to get her for any holiday so usually I just get her a lotto ticket and some gummy bears,” said local husband and father Jerome Dean. “But now I saw an ad in my golf magazine and these cleaning products are just perfect. I know my wife will love them as much as I probably love her.”

When asked which of the new designer cleaning products she would like most, Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer said “really? It’s 2014! This is both degrading and sexist. But that Couch duster is really cute.”
